Installing CarbonLib 1.6 for MacOS 8.6 to 9.2.2
This documentation is for installing CarbonLib 1.6 on Mac OS 8.6 to 9.2.2
computers on the Wellesley College campus network. CarbonLib offers better
compatibility for applications, and is required for new versions of some
applications, such as MeetingMaker 7.3.
Your computer will need to be restarted after the Installation is complete.
Please print these directions and close all open applications before
installing CarbonLib 1.6.

Click on the Apple logo in the Apple Menu Bar, and select Chooser.

In the Chooser window,

in the top left pane, click once on AppleShare,

in the bottom left pane, click once on Science Center,
-
and in the right pane, double-click on NTM.

In the dialog box that appears, enter your Wellesley Domain Account information for
the Name and Password fields, then click Connect. If you do not have a
Wellesley Domain Account, please contact the Faculty/Staff Computing HelpDesk at x3333.

In the next dialog box, scroll down and click on Community. Do NOT put a check mark
in the box next to Community. Click OK.

An icon named Community should appear on your Desktop. Double-click on it.

Double-click on the Mac folder.

Double-click on the System Software folder.

Double-click on the CarbonLib 1.6 folder to get to the CarbonLib Installer.

In the CarbonLib 1.6 folder, double-click on the Apple SW Install icon. The Installation will begin.

In the Update CarbonLib window, click Continue.

In the dialog box that appears, click Agree.

In the Update CarbonLib window, click Select.

In the Update CarbonLib window, click Start.

In the dialog box that appears, click Continue.

CarbonLib 1.6 will now be installed. A dialog box will appear with a progress bar. CarbonLib will take less than a minute to install.

In the dialog box that says the Installation process has finished, click Restart. Your computer will now restart.

When you computer finishes restarting, the CarbonLib 1.6 installation is complete!
