Admin Firewall using Cisco VPN for Wellesley College

Firewalls are an added layer of security used to protect networks. In addition to a basic firewall between the campus and the Internet, Wellesley College Information Services helps protect sensitive College data through the use of an administrative firewall. The administrative firewall requires that anyone granted access to Banner data have not only a Banner type of account but another account to gain access to those servers. As of May 2005, the software used and the account used changed.

About Admin Firewall using Cisco VPN

Cisco VPN is the new software used to login to the Admin Firewall to be able to access all the Administrative Applications behind the firewall (including Banner). Information Services replaced the administrative firewall with new hardware and software in May 2005. As usual, this can only be used on computers connected to the Wellesley College on-campus network.

You must now use your Domain Account to login to this Admin Firewall, instead of the old Admin Firewall account information you previously used.

If you have forgotten your Domain Account password (the account information used to login to computing lab computers and to faculty and staff office Windows computers), please contact the HelpDesk at x3333. It will be reset within one business day, and the new password will be sent by email in FirstClass.
