Domain Accounts
Windows/Macintosh |
The Wellesley domain is a group of Windows computers which share user and security information. To use Windows file servers such as NTM and Alice, you must log in to the domain using your domain account; when you are finished using your computer, you should log out of the domain and any servers to which you are connected.
Your domain account is separate from your FirstClass account. Your domain account has the same eight-character user name as your FirstClass account, but it may not have the same password. Changing your domain password will not change your FirstClass password; changing your FirstClass password will not change your domain password.
Note: your domain account will only work on a computer that is connected to the campus network, in a dorm or office, for example; you will not need this account from an off-campus home computer.
To learn how to use your domain account on a computer connected to the
College network -- how to log in to and out of the domain, connect to file servers (such as NTM),
and change your domain password -- choose your Operating System:
