Connecting to file servers
To connect to a file
server such as NTM:
- From the Apple menu, select Chooser.
- In the upper left corner of the Chooser window, click on
AppleShare.
Select the zone in which the server is located (e.g.,
Science Center). In the right pane of the Chooser window, select the
server you wish to use (e.g., NTM). Click OK.
- Select Registered User. In the Name field, type your domain
user name. In the Password field, type your domain password. Click
Connect.

Note: To preserve the security of your password, do not
check Add to keychain.
- Select the server item you wish to use. Click OK.
Note: Do not
check the box next to the name of the server item.
- An icon for the server item you have selected will appear on your desktop. Double-click
on the icon to access it.
Logging out
To prevent others from gaining access to
private server directories to which your domain account may have access, you
should log out of all file servers when you are finished using them or whenever
you leave your computer unattended.
To log out of a file server, drag the server icon on your desktop into the
trash.
Shutting down your computer will automatically log you out.
