File Sharing in Windows

The shared folder can be made accessible to anyone using a Windows computer on the Wellesley campus network.

NOTE: Since it is not possible to password-protect a shared folder in Windows XP Home Edition, if you must use Windows XP Home Edition you should avoid sharing files over the campus network and disable file sharing on your computer (it is enabled by default). If file sharing in Windows XP Home is not disabled, any user or virus will be able to access your computer without your knowledge.
