August 2008
FirstClass version 9.106 is available. Click an installation link above for instructions and to download the installer. Here are the changes in this version that we think you'd most like to know about:
- Do you sometimes forget to turn off your auto-reply? FirstClass will now remind you with a pop-up if you log in when your auto-reply is set. The pop-up includes a button to turn off the auto-reply with a click.
- The popular quick filter search feature that you've probably been using in your mailbox is now a default toolbar option in all conferences.
- Text in messages and documents can be bulleted.
- The spell check button has been moved from the edit toolbar to the top toolbar. It now checks the message subject as well as the body of the message.
- You can once again drag names to the list of subscribers in Windows from Excel, a list in FirstClass or another FirstClass list. There is a modified procedure for doing this on Macs.
- Calendar printing improvements have been made to the week view and the today list. The print layout menu now includes checkboxes for optionally printing tasks and punch-through calendars (viewing multiple calendars together). Punch-through calendars can also be either color-coded or transparent (showing the color of the event as it appears in the original calendar).
- Calendar items can be exported to .ical format (used for Apple iCal, Mozilla Sunbird and Google Calendar).
- If you create a new message and immediately close it without entering anything, it will automatically be deleted.
In order to help you find the FirstClass information you need more readily, we now offer an alphabetical topic lookup list called Find-It FC and a site map. These are accessible from anyplace in the FirstClass site in the menu at the top of the page.
