Students: To find your course conferences in FirstClass, open Wellesley Conferences, then Courses. You'll find your course listed in its department. If you want to put a shortcut on your own desktop, select the conference and from the menu choose Collaborate > Add to Desktop.

FirstClass version 9.126 is available. Click an installation link above for instructions and to download the installer. FirstClass can be installed on off-campus computers as well as on-campus computers.

Tips:

  • To look up help for any FirstClass topic, go to Find-It FC. Find-It FC is accessible from the header throughout the FirstClass site and links between each topic in this site.
  • Protect the folders in your mailbox and conferences that you create so that they won't be accidentally deleted or moved.
  • Create a rule to move spam into a folder as it is received.
  • Change the size of your desktop icons.
  • To quickly find a message in your mailbox or a conference, use the quick filter search box.
  • Copy lists of names within FirstClass or from Excel.
  • Search for messages, folders names or even message text.
  • Highlight messages or folders in your mailbox by right clicking them (CONTROL-click on a Mac) and choosing Color. (Folders must be unprotected when you change their color.) Or create a rule that changes the color of messages from a certain person when they are received.
  • Highlight part of a message you receive before replying to it. The highlighted text will be quoted in the reply.
  • Zoom/magnify your view of a message.
  • Set an automatic reply when you will be away.
  • Archive your messages and attachments to your computer or a removable drive to save room in your account and to prevent loss of important information.
