Troubleshooting for Export to VHS
If you see the red light on the
Sony box while exporting or if the exported video is very dark
or has flashes of light and dark:
It is likely that the original video
was copyright encoded with something called Macrovision.
There is no way to remove Macrovision from either the
original video or the digitized video. The Macrovision was
put into place by the manufacturer to prevent the video from
being duplicated.
You will not be able to export your
video to tape without the distortion, but you WILL be able
to export your video to a Quicktime movie, digital video, or
DVD.
If you get any error messages
during this process
Begin the process again and be sure
to follow each of the steps very carefully. If all of the
settings are correct you should not encounter any error
messages.
