Connecting the Sony LCD Projector to a Laptop Computer
Note: For identification of parts, check the tags on the parts themselves.
Connecting to a Macintosh Laptop
- Make sure the laptop is off and the projector is unplugged.
- If a front cover and lens cap are included,
remove the front cover of the projector by gently pulling out on the sides.
Then take the lens cap off.
- Connect one end of the video cable to Input A
or Input B.
- Connect the other cable end to an
adapter and then connect
it to the monitor port on the back of the computer, or the side depending
on the
model. (This cable will fit in only one port.) Please do not force the connections-
be gentle.
- Connect the power cable to the projector and plug the other end
into an outlet. The red “standby” light should come on.
- Always
turn the projector on first. Tap the power button
on top of the projector to turn it on. The button is found at the top right
corner of the keypad with
green lettering. The green “on” light should
come on.
- Turn on the computer.
- If you don’t see anything projected, tap the input button
on top of the projector. The input button switches the source from which
the projector
is receiving a signal. Press the input button to cycle through
the sources (Input A, Input B, Video) until the image appears. The input
should match the
port the video cable is plugged into (Input A or B).
- If you are using the
remote control, and it is not working, you must make sure that the small
gray switch on the upper left-hand corner of the remote
(marked “command”) is set to “on”.
- If the remote
is still not functioning, check to see if the triangle at the top of the
remote (under the Sony label) is lighting up when a button
is pressed. The batteries may be dead if there is no light. Replace them
with
two double A batteries.
Disconnecting the Sony LCD Projector
- To disconnect, tap the power button
on the projector twice to turn it off. The green “on” light should
start blinking.
- Turn off the computer.
- Wait until the “on” light
has stopped blinking. This may take anywhere between 30 seconds and a full
minute. The red “standby” light
must come on before continuing.
- Disconnect the projector’s power cable.
- Disconnect the video cable from the computer and the projector.
- Replace
the lens cap and the front cover. Make sure the cover snaps into the grooves
on the side of the projector.
- When securing the projector back into its
case, make sure the handle is facing up and that the screws on the bottom
of the projector are flush
with
the base.
