If you are Wellesley College faculty or staff and do not have a MeetingMaker
account, please request a new account online.

before continuing.

Meeting Maker requires Palm Desktop software version 4.0 or higher. You must install the Palm Desktop software prior to installing the Meeting Maker Palm Conduits.
If you do not have a Palm brand PDA, such as a Clie or Visor,
then you will need to check your manufacturers website for a version of Palm
Desktop
v4.0
or
higher. If
you have an older Palm, such as the Palm series III, series V, series
VII,
i705,
m100 series, m500 series, or older Tungsten or Zire models,
please download and install the Palm Desktop software from http://www.palm.com. If
your Palm is newer, such as the Treo 600, Treo 650, Treo 700p, Palm TX, Tungsten
E2, Tungsten T5, LifeDrive, Z22, Zire 71, or Zire 72, please
use the CDs and your owner's manual to install Palm Desktop.
NOTE:These instructions will install the MeetingMaker 8.7
Palm Conduits to allow you to sync your PDA with MeetingMaker. Before proceeding, please make sure you have the MeetingMaker 8.7 client installed and configured.
-
Click to download the MeetingMaker 8.7 Windows Conduit Installer. Select save to desktop.
-
When the download finishes, double-click on the 87_win_palm_conduit.exe file.
-
In the MeetingMaker Setup window, click Next.

-
In the Palm Conduit Setup window, check the conduits you wish to sync with
MeetingMaker. By default the DateBook conduit is already checked. Click
Next. You may check the Address Book and Todo List conduits
if you wish to sync those with MeetingMaker as well, but they are not necessary.
-
If you see a Disable Conduit? message, click Yes to disable the conduit(s) that conflict with the Palm setup.
- In the Destination Location window, click Next.

-
After the files have been installed you will be asked to have the Palm Hotsync Manager
restarted. Click Yes.
-
When the install is complete, click Finish.
If you installed MeetingMaker, it will now launch so that you can configure it.

-
You may now delete the 86_win_palm_conduit.zip file on your desktop. If you do not want to
use MeetingMaker at this time, you may quit the application by closing the window.
-
Please continue to the next section to Configure the Palm Conduits.
Configuring the MeetingMaker 8.7 Palm Conduits
The following directions will help you configure the new Palm Desktop Software
and MeetingMaker Palm Conduits to sync with your PalmOS PDA.
-
Open the Palm Desktop Software by right-clicking on the Hotsync icon in
the system tray and select Custom.
-
In the Custom window, double-click on meetingmaker DateBook.
-
A settings window will appear. Fill in all the information as follows:
-
Login Name should be your MeetingMaker username.
-
Password should be your MeetingMaker password. There should
be *'s instead of your password for security reasons. If you're not
sure, delete the *'s and type in your password again.
-
Server should be Wellesley College.
-
Protocol should be set to SSL.
-
Action should be Synchronize.
-
Upgrade Action should be Do Nothing.
-
Range should be set to 5 days before today and 0 days after today.
Make sure that the all radio buttons are not checked.
This is to make sure MeetingMaker and Palm sync correctly before syncing
your entire calendar. You will be able to set it back to normal
later in the instructions.
-
Timezone should be set to USA Eastern (USA).
-
If all the settings are correct, click OK.
-
Set up the built-in conduits to do nothing:
- If the Calendar conduit is not set up to Do Nothing,
double-click on that conduit
- In the Change HotSync Action window, select Do nothing,
then check the Set as default box to the right, then click on OK.
- If you plan to sync your To Do list and your Address Book to the Palm and have those conduits set up,
repeat these steps for the Contacts and Tasks conduits.
-
In the Conduit Settings or Custom window, click Done.
-
You may now sync your PalmOS PDA with your Windows XP.
-
Check the DateBook on your PDA for the past 5 days to make sure there are
no duplicate entries. If there are none, you may continue with the
directions to change the DateBook conduit settings. If there are duplicates,
please contact the HelpDesk at x3333 and do not sync your PDA until someone
from Information Services contacts you.
-
If you didn't receive any duplicate entries in your DateBook, you may now reset the sync settings in Palm Desktop Software.
-
Right-click on the Hotsync icon in the system tray and select Custom.
-
In the Conduit Settings window, double-click on the meetingmaker DateBook conduit.
-
In the meetingmaker DateBook window, under Range you may now choose the range
you wish to sync your MeetingMaker calendar with your Palm DateBook.
Information Services recommends setting the range to 30 days before today, and
all days after today.
-
Click OK to close the DateBook window.
-
Click Done to close the Conduit Settings window.
-
You may now sync your PalmOS PDA again and when it finishes your MeetingMaker account and Palm DateBook should have the same calendar!
