When can I use the plotter printer? To use the plotter, you should first reserve time at the plotter
printer station. Reservations can be made in person at the Knapp Service
Desk or
over the phone
x2368. If you arrive and no one is at the plotter printer station, please
check the schedule at the Knapp Service Desk. Anyone who has the station
reserved will
have priority, and you may not extend your session into someone else’s
reserved time.
How do I print from the plotter?
Documentation on how to print to the plotter can be found on the stand next
to the Plotter station's Macintosh computer or online.
How long will it take to print my poster?
Most posters take less than half an hour to print. However, the final printing
time will depend on the resolution and size of your poster.
What applications will print to the plotter?
You can print to the plotter from Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft
Powerpoint and Microsoft Word.
How big can my poster be?
Microsoft Word prints posters a maximum of 22’’x 22.’’ With
all other applications, one edge of your poster is limited to 34’’ and
the other edge is variable.
Where do I pay for my poster?
First, sign the logsheet (located next to the Plotter Station Macintosh computer).
Then go to the Knapp service desk to pay for yor poster. You can pay for your
poster in cash, with a check made out to Wellesley College, or with a budget
number.
How can I save paper (and money)?
You will be charged according to the number of linear feet you use. The paper
sets a fixed width of 34” as one dimension. You can save paper and money
by rotating your image or combining several smaller images to use the entire
34”.
