Acceptable Use
Use of the College's computing resources is a privilege. With such use come responsibilities and obligations on the part of everyone sending and receiving electronic communication. Information Services (IS) staff manage the College's computing resources. IS standards are based on ethics, consideration of others and academic priorities. These same high standards are expected of everyone using Wellesley College computing resources. Students are expected to use all commuting facilities with responsibility and courtesy. In order to keep users safe and the network organized, this page includes information regarding privacy, forgery, and harrassment.

Computing Labs
This page outlines what is expected of users within the public computing clusters on campus.

Confidentiality
Wellesley College acknowledges the importance of confidentiality especially when handling personal information. This page explains the college's policy regarding public, campus-wide and restricted data.

Copyright
Although this policy is violated more often out of ignorance than with actual intention, it is critical in an academic setting to know how to correctly deal with legally acknowledged materials. This page of policies and procedures outlines how users should deal with anything from printed materials to films and sound recordings.

Food & Drink
Strict policies regarding food and drink around computing facilities are outlined here. Refer to this on question about what the College does and does not allow within its public libraries.

Honor Code
The most fundamental statute governing the conduct of every person on campus is the Honor Code. Central to this idea is the assumption that every person is self-governing and is actively upholding their personal virtues of integrity and accountability.

Peer-to-Peer
Because hundreds of students, faculty and staff members are accessing the College's network at one time, this creates a strain on the computing network on campus. This page contains information regarding file-sharing at Wellesley well as techniques to make the use of Peer-To-Peer technologies safe and efficient.
