Some of the new Windows 2000 computers' CD-ROMs aren't configured to play music CDs. To set up a computer to play audio CDs:
- Click on the Start button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen
- Go to Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Multimedia
- Select the Hardware tab in the upper part of the window
- Highlight the CD-ROM in the list of devices

- Click the Properties button
- In the new Properties window, select the Properties tab
- Select "Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device" at the bottom of the window
- Press OK
- Press OK in the Sounds and Multimedia window
- The computer should now be able to play music CDs
