Ordering Photographic Reproductions

Requests must be in writing. Send requests to the attention of Sandy Hachey, Assistant Registrar, shachey@wellesley.edu (Telephone 781.283.3369).

When your order is received, we will check to determine if the photographic medium you requested exists in our files. Customer will be notified of photograph’s availability and will be sent a quote and/or an invoice.

Existing photography:
Orders must be received a minimum of 4 weeks in advance of desired shipping date for slides, photographs or transparencies that already exist.

New photography:
New photography is done on a first-come, first-served basis at the convenience of the Registration and Preparation staff and the availability of the museum’s photographer. A minimum of 8 weeks advance scheduling is required.

COLOR TRANSPARENCIES (4x5 inches): Color transparencies are rented for a three-month period, renewable on a monthly basis thereafter. Transparencies remain the property of the Davis Museum and Cultural Center and must be returned by the due date. A transparency replacement fee is charged if the transparency is returned in such a condition that it cannot be reused.

*Reproduction permission fees are not charged for works whose rights are held by the artist, estate of the artist or agent of the artist. The Davis Museum and Cultural Center assumes no responsibility for any royalties, rights or fees claimed by the artist or on the artist’s behalf. Applicant will assume responsibility for questions of copyright or use of photographic material in any way.
