Becoming a Docent

PROCEDURE FOR NEW APPLICANTS

All candidates must (in chronological order):

1. Meet with the Docent Chair, Marcia Hartley .
2. Submit an application to the Education Department.
3. Interview with the Education Department.

The Docent Chair will notify the candidate when a decision has been made. If accepted to the program, the new docent must then:

1. Begin attending ARTH 100 at the start of the fall semester or ARTH 101
at the start of the spring semester.
2. Attend ARTH 299 Museum Education during Wintersession.
3. Get a Wellesley College I.D. card and register for a parking sticker at Campus
Police.
4. Bring I.D. card to register at the Art Library in order to check out books.
5. Get a Museum I.D. card from the Davis Museum Security Manager.

(I.D. is kept in the registration book at the Museum Information Desk and
should not be removed from the building.)
