Selected Recent Acquisitions: Prints
September 19 – December 8, 2002

Otto Dix, Kupplerin (Procuress), 1923

This exhibition presented sixteenth– to twentieth–century European and American prints acquired by the Davis Museum and Cultural Center during the year 2002. These acquisitions augment the scope and excellence of the museum’s permanent collection with strong individual pieces or series by artists whose work represents significant contributions to the history of art. Consisting of engravings, etchings, woodcuts, and lithographs, the prints encompass a breadth of imagery and styles, from Dutch Mannerist mythological scenes to modernist portraiture to Abstract Expressionist, nonrepresentational subject matter.
