Stephen Vitiello
Spring 2009

Stephen Vitiello is a sound artist and electronic musician, whose work ranges from immersive environments marrying audio, light, and color, to collaborations with composers and visual artists, such as Julie Mehretu and Tony Oursler. Most well-known for his World Trade Center Recordings, in which he created a sonic portrait of the building through the use of contact microphones, Vitiello's recent work translates color into sound, transforming both into a physical experience.
