Liz Lieberman

Liz Lieberman is Director of Wellesley's Office of Sponsored Research and Assistant Dean of the College. As Director of Sponsored Research, a position she has held since 1981, she advises faculty members in all disciplines about appropriate sources of external grant and fellowship support for their research and works with them in preparing grant proposals and budgets. She has additional responsibilities relating to grant administration and institution and principal investigator compliance with regulations concerning expenditure of Federal funds.

In the fall of 1992, Liz assumed a second position as Assistant Dean of the College. In this capacity, she oversees a variety of areas relating to faculty matters, including the development and implementation of methods for the coordination and presentation of data relating to faculty, and she represents the Office of the Dean of the College on committees established to review and/or change the computerization of such data.

Liz received a B.A. from Wellesley College in 1963 and an M.A. from Brandeis University in 1965, both in chemistry. For many years, she taught in the Chemistry Department at Wellesley. She has been active in the Council on Undergraduate Research and served as CUR's secretary for four years, from 1993 to 1996. She is also a member of the National Council of University Research Administrators.

Mary Pat Navins

Mary Pat Navins is the Assistant Dean for Academic Budget and Administration. In this capacity, she has the responsibility for providing budgetary and financial support for academic departments and committees, and managing academic financial resources that include institutional grants, endowed funds and gifts. She provides guidance and advice to faculty on the Committee on Educational Research and Development , the Committee on Faculty Awards, and the Agenda Committee. She manages and implements the faculty committee election process, the internal research process for faculty and students, and the curricular award process for faculty.

Mary Pat joined the staff in the Dean's Office in August of 1995. Prior to coming to Wellesley College, she was employed by the Wellesley United Soccer Club as its administrator and treasurer, responsible for coordinating all programs and managing the budget. She earned an AB from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in chemistry.

Mary Greenwood

Mary Greenwood is the Assistant to the Deans of the College. Since 1992, she has had the responsibility for overseeing the daily functions of the office which include the management of the Deans' activities and schedules. In addition, she records minutes for the Trustee-Faculty Committee on Academic Affairs, records minutes and provides support for Academic Council and the Agenda Committee.

Bringing a varied work experience, Mary started to work at Wellesley in 1982 as the Science Center Receptionist. From 1984 - 1992, she served as the Administrative Assistant to the Departments of Astronomy, Geology and Physics. In her leisure time, she enjoys crocheting, knitting and spending time with her family and friends.

Pat Bois

Pat Bois is an administrative assistant in the Office of the Dean of the College reporting to Mary Pat Navins. Pat is the coordinator of the NSF REU Summer Social Science Program, the Sophomore Early Research Program, and student grants and awards. She provides support for the named professorships, the Mellon Mid-Career Enrichment Grant, and the Davis World Cultures Fund. Her hours are Monday through Friday, 12:00 noon to 3:00.

Pat began working at Wellesley College in 1986 for the Classical Studies Department as an administrative assistant. She continues to hold this position working mornings during the academic year.

She received her BA from Syracuse University and her MA from the University of Delaware, both in history. She worked for the Director of the Library of the Boston Athenaeum for several years before leaving to raise her children. She has been active as a volunteer in Medfield in both the public schools and her local church.

Ruth Frommer

Ruth Frommer is the Faculty Appointments Coordinator in the Office of the Dean of the College and Clerk of the Committee on Faculty Appointments. As Faculty Appointments Coordinator, she is responsible for all personnel activities relating to faculty, including hiring, salary updates, status changes, and maintaining faculty information. As Clerk of the Committee on Faculty Appointments (CFA), Ruth manages and coordinates the work of the CFA and the Advisory Committee on Merit relating to faculty reappointment, tenure, promotion, merit and sabbatical leave decisions.

Ruth joined Wellesley College in October 1999, bringing a variety of work experience. From 1993-1999, Ruth was the Corporate Operations Coordinator at Health Management Resources, a national healthcare company based in Boston. Prior to that, she spent ten years in the Human Resources field, first at Abt Associates, a research firm in Cambridge, and then at the law firm of Foley, Hoag & Eliot. Ruth received a B.A. in Russian from Brandeis University.

 Judy Mitchell

Judy Mitchell is the administrative assistant to the Office of Sponsored Research reporting to Elizabeth C. Lieberman, Director and Assistant Dean of the College. She provides support for all the activities of the office, including publicizing information about funding sources, coordinating proposal submission, and maintaining the library of funding information. In addition, she handles administrative aspects of the Ruhlman conference and the college's sabbatical leave program. Judy's hours are 8:30 - 3:00, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and 8:30 - noon, Wednesday and Friday, September to June.

Judy Nackoney

Judy Nackoney is an administrative assistant in the Office of the Dean of the College reporting to Mary Pat Navins. Judy processes requests for payments to faculty, students and vendors for conference travel, ER&D grants, faculty research awards and various Dean's Office funds. She monitors research accounts and consults with faculty and students regarding balances and payment procedures. She also prepares materials and correspondence for the Committee on Faculty Awards and assists in preparing and counting ballots for the Agenda Committee. Her hours are 8:30 - 12:00, Monday through Friday.
