STUDENT AWARDS APPLICATION

This grant is ONLY available for students who have projects that fall in one of the following three categories:

A. _____ Research Grant for 250, 350, 360, or 370 course work
These grants are available to students working in any field.

B. _____ Conference Travel Grant to present work at a scholarly conference
These grants are available only to students who are presenting academic work at a conference.

C. _____ Multicultural Research Grant for 250, 350, 360, or 370 course work
These grants fund research in areas including, but not limited to, multiculturalism, pluralism,civil rights and responsibilities, race and racism, ethnicity, national identity, anti-semitism, sexual orientation, religion, disability, gender studies, and cross-cultural interactions.

Ordinarily no retroactive awards will be made, and a student will be funded for only one project per academic year.

All applications must include this form and the following attachments:

  1.  a description of the project (1-2 pages) which should include the relationship of this project to your academic program;
  2. the proposed budget and a justification (i.e., how will these funds be used for your project?) Funds cannot be used for duplicating costs for the resulting paper or thesis;
  3. the source of any other funding (i.e., are there other possible sources of support for your project?)

Applications will be accepted throughout the academic year. Applications that do not include the required information will be returned to the applicant. Applications should be well-written and proof-read. Return these materials to the Office of the Dean of the College, 345 Green Hall.
