Family Weekend

Family and Friends Weekend

Family and Friends Weekend occurs annually in the fall semester. Highlights of the weekend include attending classes, taking campus tours, meeting faculty at departmental receptions, and experiencing some of Wellesley's treasured traditions such as the Distinguished Faculty Lecture, Step Singing, and the Sophomore Tree Planting.

Thousands of events take place each year at Wellesley. Many are coordinated by the student clubs and organizations with the support of the Office of Student Activities. With over 30 performance groups and an equal number of cultural organizations, 17 political groups, 13 athletic teams, and much more, the campus buzzes with activity.

The College also coordinates many events including the annual Ruhlman and Tanner Conferences. The Davis Museum and Cultural Center offers a rotating series of temporary exhibitions that challenge our understanding of history and the role of the arts in society. The Wellesley College Theatre, in association with the student organization Upstage, offer critically acclaimed productions throughout the year.

Some Wellesley events have become traditions including the Tower Court Mixer, Munger Mash, Junior Show, Lake Day, Flower Sunday, and Spring Weekend. Annually on Patriots Day, the Wellesley College community comes together to cheer on world class athletes from all over the world who pass before the College during the annual Boston Marathon.

Each fall, the College invites parents, families and friends of Wellesley students to attend Family and Friends Weekend. This year, it occurs on October 22-24. We hope you can attend on that weekend or visit your student at some other point during the year.

Organizations in the Boston area as well as surrounding colleges and universities provide students with ample opportunities off-campus as well. See Women About Town for listings.
