ECON 331: Seminar: Monetary Theory and Policy
This course covers the formulation of monetary policy and its theoretical foundations. This includes discussion of important topics in monetary economics: rules vs. discretion, reputation, the monetary transmission mechanism and central bank independence, in addition the latest developments in monetary policymaking including inflation targeting, monetary policy rules and exchange rate anchors of monetary policy.
