campus organizationsWEED: Wellesley Energy and Environmental Defense (WEED) is a multi-constituency organization composed of students, faculty, staff, and union members interested in reducing the college’s environmental footprint. WEED oversees the eco-reps in the residence halls, conducts recycling at major environmental conferences, and plans events related to the environment. website Outing Club: The Outing Club offers students opportunities to hike, canoe, kayak, ski, and enjoy the outdoors. Recent trips include hiking at Blue Hills Reserve, Walden Pond, climbing at a nearby wall, and kayaking on the Charles River. The college Outing Club partners with MIT for some activities too. GNats: Garden Naturalists, a group of students, faculty, staff, and other naturalists who meet in the Botanic Gardens to get to know the plants, animals, and fungi of the campus.
