Tuesday, November 10th, 4:10-5:20 PM, The Future of Food - Dave Jacke. Dave Jacke, author of Edible Forest Gardening and permaculture expert, is leading a project to put in an "edible forest garden" here in the Botanic Gardens, and will talk about permaculture in general and the Wellesley project in particular, followed by dinner with a small group of students. Science Center 396.

Wednesday, November 11th, 6pm, Coal Country Film Screening. Coal Country is "a film that tells of the dramatic struggle around the use of coal, which provides over half electricity in America." Professor Chad Montrie (from UMass Lowell), author of To Save the Land and People: A History of Opposition to Surface Coal Mining in Appalachia, will speak about the implications of coal mining after the film. Collins Cinema.

Thursday, November 12th, 7pm, "Are Climate Change Skeptics Telling You the Truth?" Alden Griffith, Postdoctoral Fellow. What do you think about climate change? Have you heard claims that raise your doubt? Have you ever put these claims under the microscope and critically examined them? Come investigate a variety of climate change claims. Refreshments and snacks provided. All are welcome! PNW 212.

Tuesday, November 17th, 4:10-5:20 PM, The Future of Food - Hilde Steffey. Hilde Steffey, Program Director at Farm Aid, spearheads the organization's policy work. She'll speak on current federal agricultural policy and what changes can be made to promote sustainability. Hilde is well known in agricultural circles for her "Dear Hilde" column at Farm Aid. Science Center 278.
