Welcome to Wellesley, Class of 2012!

Wellesley is committed to providing rich academic opportunities for students, and to supporting them as they seek to take advantage of those opportunities. The transition to college, and to Wellesley College specifically, gives all new students a chance to explore new learning strategies, to undertake personal growth and development, and to work on many new academic challenges.

The Office of the First-Year Dean welcomes new students into the Wellesley community and supports their progress during the year. Our programs and services engage students in the process of choosing courses, creating connections, and making the most of the academic opportunities here. First-Year Dean Lori Tenser meets with students during Orientation week and throughout the year to guide their academic progress, and assist each student with her individual transition.Working closely with Dean Tenser is Ruth Samia, the Office Administrator, who facilitates communication with first-year students, and provides a kind ear to students, as well as administrative support to the work of the office.
