What to Bring

Deciding what to bring to Wellesley can be difficult. It's a good idea to talk to your roommate(s) before packing so that you can discuss sharing certain items, especially larger items, such as televisions and refrigerators. Storage containers that help you to maximize space are always useful, such as underbed storage containers, stackable crates, and multi-prong clothes hangers. One of the most important items that you will need is linens. The linens you bring should be for an extra-long twin mattress. It's a good idea to pack your linens in an easily accessible location so that you can find them easily on your first day and be able to easily make up your bed.

For fire safety reasons, the following items are not permitted in dorm rooms: halogen lamps, microwave ovens, spaceheaters, air conditioners, candles, or other heating devices (such as coffee pots, hot plates, or rice cookers).

If you are a student receiving financial aid, visit the resources section of the Student Aid Society site to see what the Society will be providing you with.

The What to Bring portion of the ResLife site might also provide some useful information for you. This link will open in a new window.
