have to attend a family member’s funeral?

 

Steps you need to take:

 

  • Notify your supervisor.

The College provides paid leave for you to attend the funeral of an immediate family member. The length of time allowed for the funeral leave is normally three days, but may vary, as determined by your supervisor, depending on the distance you must travel and the amount of responsibility you must assume. The total leave cannot exceed five consecutive working days.

 

For purposes of this policy, your immediate family is defined to include the following: mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, spouse or same-sex domestic partner, sister, brother, child, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, or anyone related to you by blood who lives in the same home.
