Meet Wellesley Health Service Staff
|
Director - Dr. Vanessa Britto received her BA form Dartmouth College, MD from University of Illinois College of Medicine, and an MSc (Masters in Science) in Community Health from Brown University. She completed her residency and fellowship in Primary Care and General Internal Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine. She has enjoyed practicing general medicine in various settings including neighborhood and Community Health Centers, private practice, and in college health services; prior to joining Wellesley College, served as the college physician at Stonehill College. She has always enjoyed a concentration in women’s health, preventive medicine, and cardiovascular disease prevention. She is a member of the NE College Health Association Board and is also involved in various professional and community organizations. In her spare time, Dr. Britto enjoys live jazz, playing the piano, being at the beach, watching football, traveling, reading, hanging out with family and someday seriously learning to play the pipe organ. |

Dr. Amy Veale Dr. Veale received her BA from Creighton University, her MD from Boston
University School of Medicine, and completed her internship and residency in
General Internal Medicine at Miriam Hospital/Brown Unversity. She is board
certified in Internal Medicine and has practiced at the Brigham and
Women's Hospital, the Miriam Hospital, Sturdy Memorial Hospital and the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center. She previously was a clinical instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School and provided healthcare services to the students at Wheaton College. Dr. Veale's interests include women's health, travel medicine, preventive medicine and emergency health preparedness. She enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, summering on Cape Cod, attending her childrens' activities, reading, running, traveling and visiting family in Minnesota. |
Mary Bonner Seay, WHNP-BC Mary received her BA from Wake Forest University and her MS in Nursing at Boston College where she specialized in women’s health and completed internships in several Boston hospitals and various outpatient settings. She previously worked for an OBGYN practice in Dallas, Texas before moving back to the Boston area. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, playing the piano, reading, spending time with her husband, and traveling to Texas to visit her family.

Lisa Keefe, RN, Associate Clinical Coordinator- Lisa is a graduate of Providence College and Quinnipiac College. She began working at Health Services in 1998 as a per diem nurse then joined the staff full time in 2006. She brings with her 25 years of pediatric and GYN experience from Children's Hospital, Brigham & Women's Hospital, and Newton-Wellesley Hospital where she maintains her position on the Pediatric Unit. Lisa and her husband Tim live in Natick and have three children.

Virginia Luongo, MT, Medical Technologist - Ginny started working in a hospital laboratory when she was in high school and then worked her way through college by working every weekend, holiday, and vacation for four years. She has a B.S. in Biology and is certified as a Medical Technologist by The American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Although her specialty is Blood Bank, she has worked in all laboratory departments, and on all three hospital shifts. For four years she taught the clinical classes at a Junior College in their Associates Degree medical assisting program, and she was a hospital instructional coodinator for many years. |

Carol Meikle, MT Medical Technologist, is a graduate from Springfiled College. She completed her internship at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. Carol enjoys traveling and summers at Long Beach Island, NJ with her extended family

Catherine Collins, Director of Health Education is a certified health education specialist C.H.E.S. and has a background as a family nurse practitioner. Her work experience includes experience in mental health, community health, school health and
volunteer work on a medical van serving homeless street youth. She has been in the field of college health for a number of years, including work at
Boston University and Bentley College prior to coming to Wellesley. Her other work, when not at Wellesley involves a complementry care practice for women with breast cancer. Catherine has a passion for dance, the visual arts and the great outdoors.

Jodi D. Colman, RHIA, Office Manager is a graduate of Northeastern University and has worked in healthcare since 1993. She has worked in some of the Boston area facilities such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Hosptial and Hebrew Rehabilitation Center. She loves to help the pubilc understand the effective management of personal health information and how it is used to deliver quality healthcare. Jodi lives in Holliston with her husband and two children.

Barbara Lord, Receptionist has a BA in Psychology from Cedar Crest College and is currently enrolled at Wheelock working towards her MSW. Barbara has been at Wellesley College for 4 years and enjoys working with the college population;her hope is to continue working with students after completion of her Masters. Barbara lives in Southborough with her husband. She has 2 grown sons, a daughter in college, 2 cats and a dog. Her hobbies include reading and going to the beach.

Sharon Pierce, Billing Coordinator has been the Billing Coordinator at the Health Service for the past seven years, helping the student understand the billing/insurance issues of today. She has become an advocate for the student and the liaison between the student, outside providers and insurance companies. Previously Sharon worked as a Receptionist/Billing Coordinator within a private practice. Sharon loves gardening, traveling and recently took up golf.

Regina Harris, RN Triage Nurse Regina is a graduate of Greenfield Commuity College. She has 25 years of Nursing experience. She joined the Wellesley College Community during the summer of 2009. She has been primarily in Pediatrics, working at Children's Hospital, Newton Wellesley Hospital, and spent the past 9 years as a triage nurse for a large pediatrician practice on the North Shore of Boston. She lives in Melrose with her husband David, has 2 daughters, a large orange cat & a little black rabbit. She loves gardening, cooking, reading, yoga & is trying to break into community theatre.
