H1N1 UPDATES

NOT FEELING WELL?
Don’t Panic. Follow These Steps:

  • Assess your symptoms. You might have the flu if you have fever or chills AND a sore throat or cough.
  • You may also have: runny nose, headache, body aches, tiredness, diarrhea or vomiting.
  • Take your temperature. You can buy a digital thermometer at CVS or Andrews Pharmacy. Ask your RD if you need help.
  • Temp < 100 degrees Fahrenheit = NO FEVER
  • Temp > 100 degrees Fahrenheit = FEVER
  • If you have no fever, Take Care:
    Choose to Eat Well
    Always Drink Fluids
    Rest/Sleep
    Exercise

  • If you have a fever, DO NOT walk over to the health service before calling. Self-isolating keeps germs from spreading.
  • CALL the Health Service at x 2810. You will be asked to describe your symptoms and make an appointment if necessary.
  • If you need urgent assistance after hours, dial x2810. For emergencies, call Campus Police at x5555.
