Alumnae Hostess Program for International Students Coming to Study at Wellesley
(http://www.wellesley.edu/ISS/is/isic/awn/hp/hp.html)
Welcome to our Wellesley College family. Because you have spent most of your life abroad, the Slater International Center staff thought you might enjoy having an American hostess to welcome you to the United States, and to help you through the first few weeks. As an international student who is not a permanent resident of the United States, you will be offered the opportunity of friendship with the family of a Wellesley College graduate. Your alumna hostess, who is a member of the International Student Committee of the Boston Wellesley College Club, will write to you to tell you about herself and her family. She will try to meet you when you first arrive in the Boston area, and will be happy to help you with the details of getting settled.
Your alumna hostess is a former student of Wellesley who wants to help a new student enjoy her stay at the College. However, she assumes no financial responsibility for you, and you are under no obligation to her. In the past, most students have appreciated the opportunity to have some older American friends available. We hope that this friendship will become a memorable part of your Wellesley College experience.
