Maurizio Viano has published on and is interested in a variety of subjects such as Cultural Studies, Critical Theory, Addiction Theory, and Cinema. He does not believe in academic writing. Nor does he believe in too narrow a specialization:

What he believes in, however, is teaching a curriculum that is in keeping with the demands of the times. |

For this reason he is insisting that the College allow him and some of his colleagues to initiate a Cinema And Media Studies major. He teaches several courses in Italian cinema with enthusiasm.
