Special Projects

Working Connections Project

This project utilizes Relational/Cultural Theory to explore and enhance workplace practices. At the core of this work is the proposition that we are most productive, creative, and effective when we are participating in growth-fostering workplace relationships. This project offers both new insights and new practices that advance the growth of organizations and the people in them.

Mothers-Sons Project

Traditional models of psychological development insist that separation between mothers and sons is necessary for sons to grow into successful, competent men. The work of this project challenges this assumption and moves the emphasis of the mother-son relationship away from separation toward greater connection and growth. It sees the mother-son relationship as an ideal place for boys to learn how to connect, not only to mothers, but also to others in a much wider world of important relationships.

Research Network

This interdisciplinary interest group grew out of the work of scholars committed to enhancing the quality, diversity, and accessibility of scientific research based on a relational/cultural perspective. New members are invited to join this effort to promote a greater understanding of human relationships.

Promising Practices

Here, you will find a growing list of individuals, agencies, academic institutions, and organizations all over the globe who are utilizing Relational/Cultural Theory in many different and innovative ways. This a good resource to find others who may be applying the Theory to your field of interest or practice!

Connection Groups

After reading Stone Center/JBMTI publications or attending one (or many!) of our Institutes, Courses, or Workshops, often individuals wish to participate in ongoing conversations about Relational/Cultural Theory. One way to do so is by starting or joining a Connection Group in your area or on the Web!
