Printing The Knapp Center offers two black & white laser printers, a color laser printer and a large format plotter.
Black & White Printing
Printing to our duplex Black & White printers is free of charge. Our black & white printers can accomodate only 8.5x11 paper. Users are not permitted to use their own paper or transparencies in our printers. All paper must be supplied by the Knapp Center. Users with their own paper or transparencies should print a single copy using our printers and paper and then copy the document onto special paper (or transparencies) at the Copy Center. Color Printing
Printing to our duplex color printer is free of charge for academic work only. All non-academic work costs $.50 per page. Transparencies and glossy paper can be purchased from the Knapp Service desk. - 8.5x11 transparencies are $.50 per sheet for academic and non-academic work.
- 8.5x11 glossy paper is $.25 per sheet for academic and non-academic work.
- 11x17 glossy paper is $xx per sheet for academic and non-academic work.
The color printer can accomodate 8.5x11, 8.5x14 and 11x17 plain laser paper. Please ask at the Knapp Service Desk if you would like to print on 8.5x14 or 11x17 paper as they will need to feed the paper manually. There is no additional charge for using 8.5x14 or 11x17 paper. Users are not permitted to use their own paper or transparencies in our printers. All paper and transparencies must be supplied by the Knapp Center. Users with their own paper or transparencies should print a single copy using our printers and paper and then copy the document onto special paper (or transparencies) at the Copy Center. Large Format Plotter Printing
Knapp is equipped with a large format plotter which will print documents up
to 34 inches in width.
Printing to the plotter costs $7 per linear
foot. For example:
- A document that is 34 inches wide and 1 foot long would cost
$7.
- A document that is 20 inches wide and 30 inches long (2.5
feet) would cost $17.50.
- A poster created following our PowerPoint
instructions (above) will cost $28.
Only one computer in Knapp will print to our large format plotter.
To make a reservation to use the plotter, please call or visit
the Knapp Service Desk (x2369.) Most printing jobs that are ready
to print will print in under 30 minutes, but please reserve 1
hour per poster in case there are problems with your document.
The
maximum width and length of each document varies depending on
the document's file type. Please read through our online
tips and printing instructions before
creating your poster.
