Wellesley College is located 12 miles from Boston, Massachusetts. Participants of ABC: The Artists' Books Conference will have the oppourtunity to explore this city, rich in American history and cultural excitement.

The Museum of Fine Arts
Hours:
      Monday and Tuesday: 10 am – 4:45 pm
      Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 10 am – 9:45 pm
      (On Thursday and Friday after 5 pm only the West Wing and
      select galleries are open.)
      Saturday and Sunday: 10 am – 4:45 pm
Admission:
      Adults: $15.00
      Paid admission includes on free visit to the MFA’s collections within
      ten days. On Wednesdays after 4 pm admission is by
      voluntary contribution.
Directions:
      By Public Transport: Take the Green line “E” train to “Museum of
      Fine Arts” stop, the MFA is across the street to the right.
      Or, take the Orange line train to the “Ruggles” stop.


The Harvard University Art Museums
The Fogg Art Museum, the Arthur M. Sackler Museum,
the Busch-Reisinger Museum

Hours:
      Monday – Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
      Sunday: 1 pm – 5 pm
Admission:
      General Admission: $6.50
      Admission price is for entry to all three museums.
Directions:
      By Public Transport: Take the Red line train to the “Harvard Square”
      stop. Exit the station via the “Harvard Yard” exit. Enter Harvard Yard
      through Johnson’s Gate to cross through the old and inner yards. Exit at
      Quincy Street, directly in front of the Fogg Museum. The Sackler is
      to the left across Broadway; The Busch-Reisinger is behind the Fogg
      on Prescott Street in Werner Otto Hall.


The Institute of Contemporary Art
Hours:
      Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: noon - 5 pm
      Thursday: noon - 9 pm
      Saturday and Sunday: 11 am - 5 pm
Admission:
      Adults: $7
      Free Admission Thursdays after 5 pm
Directions:
      By Public Transport: Take the Green line B, C, or D train to the
      “Hynes Convention Center/ICA” stop.


Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
Hours:
      Tuesday-Sunday: 11 am - 5 pm (Galleries begin closing at 4:45 pm)
Admission:
      Adults: $10 ($11 on weekends)
      All named “Isabella” are admitted free
Directions:
      By Public Transport: Take the Green Line E-train to the “Museum
      of Fine Arts” stop. Cross Huntington Avenue (toward the Texaco
      Gas Station) to Louis Prang Street. Walk down Louis Prang Street
      for two blocks. The Museum is on the left.


The Museum of Science
Hours:
      Monday – Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday: 9 am – 5 pm
      Friday: 9 am - 9 pm
Admission:
      Adults: $14 (for exhibit halls, Muger Omni Theater and
      Charles Hayden Planetarium are separate)
Directions:
      By Public Transport: Take the Green line train to the
      “North Station” stop. From there a shuttle bus will provide
      transport to the “Science Center” stop.



Boston National Historical Park
The National Park Service has set up three visitor centers for the public
in Boston at the Bunker Hill Lodge, the Charlestown Navy Yard, and Downtown. All visitor centers are open year round from 9 am ? 5 pm
and host various programs and information sessions on the historic places
in the city. For more information on what sites are included in the park,

The Freedom Trail
The Freedom Trail Foundation offers a variety of tour types including:
90 minute guided walking tours by costumed characters for $12 per adult, self guided audio tours for $15 per audio set rental, and even sailing tours of

The USS Constitution
Free tours are offered of Old Ironsides in the summer months on Tuesday - Sunday, 10:30 am - 3:50 pm. Tours run every 30 minutes.

Old North Church
The Old North Church was the site where two lanterns were briefly hung
to alert Paul Revere, and so the rest of Boston, of the British approach.
