Conference attendees are invited to attend the optional banquet dinner on Friday evening at the Wellesley College Club. The dinner will be preceded by a cocktail hour on the College Club Terrace overlooking Lake Waban. Live jazz will be performed by a student ensemble from the Berklee College of Music. Dinner entertainment will be a raffle of eclectic, interesting, and surprising book arts related items.

The Wellesley College Book Arts Lab will be open for conference attendees to print a letterpress keepsake, socialize with other attendees, and view an exhibition of book art work by Wellesley students. The Book Arts Lab Open House will run concurrently with the Book Fair on both Thursday and Friday, so participants may attend both activities on either day.
Book artists and booksellers will exhibit artists' books and related materials in the ABC Book Fair, to be held in both the Contemporary Gallery of the Davis Museum and Cultural Center and the Library Lecture Room of the Margaret Clapp Library. Space and security considerations allow a maximum of approximately fifty tables at the Fair that have already been filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The Book Fair will be held concurrently with the Book Arts Lab Open House on both days, so attendees will have time for both activities.

Several special tours have been arranged for ABC participants. These tours are optional and take place before the official ABC conference sessions so participants won't have to miss any conference sessions. To sign up for any one of these tours, please indicate your choice on the conference registration form and include your separate check in the amount of $30 ($42 with box lunch). Tour participants will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis as seating is limited.
Boston Public Library Rare Books and Manuscripts Department

This tour of Boston Public Library architectural highlights includes a behind the scenes tour of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Department with Roberta Zonghi, Keeper of Rare Books and Manuscripts. Participants will also learn about the collecting direction of the department, view a selection of artists' books, and witness the care and maintenance that takes place in the department's own conservation laboratory.

Participants will have the opportunity for a guided tour of the Houghton Library and view the exhibition "Miniature Books from the Collection of Julian Edison."

Fort Point Channel Studios Pre-conference tour

Meet three book artists who live and work in the Fort Port Channel Studios, an area heavily populated with artists in downtown Boston. Laura Davidson, Mary McCarthy, and Peter Madden will open their studios and share their work with participants. Three smaller groups will circulate through the studios allowing for an intimate hands-on experience and time to speak directly with the artists.
Cost: $30, with optional box lunch $42
Conference participants will be able to spend an evening dining in Boston or Cambridge. Bus transportation to deliver and pick up participants to downtown Boston and Harvard Square at pre-determined times will be available for those that so indicate on the conference registration form.

The Davis Museum and Cultural Center, located on the Wellesley campus, is free and open to the public six days a week, year-round. During the ABC Conference, visit the museum's "Master Prints" of Hendrik Goltzius and Mannerist Art exhibit. "Resonance and Response: Artists’ Books from Special Collections", an exhibition featuring selected works from the Wellesley College Library’s extensive holdings, will be on view in the Clapp Library Lobby, Reading Room, and Special Collections. An illustrated catalog of the exhibition, generously funded by the Friends of the Wellesley College Library, will be available for purchase.
