Digital
Cameras
Wellesley
College-owned digital cameras may be checked out by faculty
and staff, at the Knapp Media and Technology Center and the
Science Library. Each digital camera works differently. Choose
a camera below for more detailed instruction.
Make
sure that the batteries for the digital camera you are using
are charged before you begin. Digital cameras checked out at
Knapp Media and Technology Center or the Science Library come
with detailed instruction on battery recharging. If you have
questions please see Frequently
Asked Questions Concerning the Battery Chargers. To
download images from a digital camera you must have specific
software installed on your computer. This software can be found
in the Pendelton Media Lab, Knapp Media and Technology Center,
and Founders 121. You may also download the software to your
own personal computer. For specific instructions please see Installing
Digital Camera Software on a PC or
a Mac.
It
is important to note that the images that come from a digital
camera can be extremely large. Once you download an image it
is important to edit the size of the image using software such
as Fireworks or Photoshop. For help on image formats or on compression,
see the Handbook
page on Images. For more information about resolution,
see an explanation
of screen resolution.
If
you have specific questions about using a Wellesley College owned
digital camera, please
