How to use the Virtual Catalog | Back to ILL
What is the Virtual Catalog? The Virtual Catalog provides a single, searchable catalog of books owned by participating libraries of the Boston Library Consortium. Qualified patrons of these libraries may directly request material.

Who
can use the Virtual Catalog?
Anyone may search the VC by typing "guest" in the login box. To request material
you must have a current Wellesley College OneCard.
If you have problems logging in please contact an Access Services staff
member at x3083 or email.
What material may be borrowed
through the Virtual Catalog? Each participating library determines
which items in its collection they will lend, including books and other materials.
Generally, you will not be able to request items that are Library-Use-Only or
on reserve for a course. If the item you want cannot be borrowed on the VC,
it may be available through other ILL
services.
How long does it take to get
something? Requested materials can arrive as quickly as 1 day, but
typically take 2-3 days. Request made during weekend or holiday hours will take
longer. All ILL requests depend on availability and timing of transport.
Where do I pick up and return
material? You will receive an email notice when the material is ready
for pick up at the Clapp Library Circulation Desk. You will need your OneCard
to check the material out. Materials must be returned to the Clapp Circulation
Desk.
What are the loan policies?
Loan period: 28 days
Renewals: Sorry, not permitted
Limits: 25 items
Fines: None if returned before Billing. Please keep in mind that Wellesley
has an obligation as part of this consortium to return materials on time. If
you need to have an item for a longer period of time, please request another
copy and return the first.
