All claims must be accompanied by documentation. For each event, the cause, a list of the materials damaged, and any record of orders for replacements or repair/rebinding.
The College's insurance carrier is Kemper; the local agency who represents them is Thomas Gallagher; the agent is Steve Pickup (888-221-5946). [CONFIRM]
A claim is made after notifying Linda Church, Assistant Vice President for Finance, (x2301) of the damage and the estimated cost to replace or repair damaged items. Linda may choose to use College funds to cover these costs or may let the claim cover them.
The insurance company will need a list of the damaged items and a cost (or estimated cost) for the replacements/repairs.
When the claim is settled, the check should be made payable to Wellesley College:
- if Linda Church has supplied a budget number to pay for replacements/repairs, the check should be used to reimburse that account.
- if the Library materials budget covered the replacement/repair costs, the check should be sent to the Steve Smith (x2103), who will have it deposited to the Library's budget to reimburse those expenditures.
