For this course, try Britannica Online for biographical and time line information. Copies of Kate Turabian's Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, & Dissertations, (6th ed.), MLA Handbook, (6th ed.), and Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), (5th ed.) are kept there for the convenience of students working on papers in the library.

Facts on File World News Digest[1940 +] contains news digests written contemporary to the time by Facts on File news editors. It also contains full-text historical documents, election results, and selected editorials.
Historical Abstracts [1954 +] has articles dealing with world history since 1450.
Infotrac Onefile [1980 +] has scholarly & popular articles in every discipline.
JSTOR [articles are taken from the first issues of journals but not the latest 5 years] are full-text articles from a collection of humanities, social & natural science journals.
LexisNexis Academic News [most articles date from the 1980s +] has domestic and international news articles.
MLA International Bibliography [1963 +] has articles on literature, lingusitics, film, folklore.
New York Times [1851-2003] provides pdf versions, plus graphics, of full-text articles from the Times.
PAIS (Public Affairs Information Services) [1915 +] features articles about political, social, economic issues, and public affairs.
