Historical Abstracts [1954 +] has articles dealing with world history since 1450.

Infotrac Onefile [1980 +] has scholarly & popular articles in every discipline.

JSTOR [articles are taken from the first issues of journals but not the latest 5 years] are full-text articles from a collection of humanities, social & natural science journals.

LexisNexis Academic News [most articles date from the 1980s +] has domestic and international news articles.

MLA International Bibliography [1963 +] has articles on literature, lingusitics, film, folklore.

New York Times [1851-2003] provides pdf versions, plus graphics, of full-text articles from the Times.
