To begin research for any course paper, start by looking at the Library's Home Page & Library Catalog. Click on the "Search by" line and decide if you need authors, titles of works, a keyword search, etc. It is always good to look at the resources Wellesley has before searching the databases and holdings of other institutions. Other options to examine will be the Reference Books Online, Databases A-Z, Research Resources by Subject, and Search the Web [Just a cautionary note about using the WWW --- Literary comments from articles with no designated author, or an author with no stated credentials, should be suspect. Because it is on the Web does not mean the information is accurate!]. After you have done a Catalog search, go to Research Resources by Subject, and click on the Russian page, noting the mentioned resources, both paper and electronic. The electronic titles are live and will take you directly to that database or Internet site.

To locate books at Wellesley College: Use the Library Catalog and follow these searching tips - To find criticism of a particular author’s work, do a subject search under the author’s name (last name, first name) and look for the subheading "Criticism and Interpretation." To find information on a topic contained in a larger work or when starting to research a topic, use a keyword search, then see what the subject headings are for the item.
