Science Library Large Format Plotter Printing

The Science Library as well as the Knapp Media Center are equipped with large format plotters which will print documents up to 34 inches in width.

Page size needs to be 36" x 8" or greater Unless otherwise specified, maximum paper length is 90"

Policies

• Cost: Posters cost $7 per linear foot regardless of whether they are for academic or personal use. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • For example:
• A document that is 34 inches wide and 1 foot long would cost $7.
• A document that is 20 inches wide and 30 inches long (2.5 feet) would cost $17.50.
• A poster created following our PowerPoint instructions (above) will cost $28.
  
  
• Payment: When the poster is complete, you must log in and pay for your poster at the Science Library Circulation desk. You can pay for your poster in cash, with a check made out to "Wellesley College", or with a budget number.

• Reservations: Only one PC computer in Science Library will print to the plotter. This PC computer to the right of the plotter should only be used for resizing and printing your poster. Poster creation and editing can be done on other computers.
  • The PC is available for general use when the plotter is not needed; you may ask any user to relinquish the computer to use the plotter. Priority is given to the user with a scheduled appointment to use the plotter printer.   
• You are expected to arrive at the plotter printer station with your posters ready to print.
• To make a reservation to use the plotter, please call or visit the Science Library Circulation Desk (x3083).
• Most printing jobs that are ready to print will print in under 30 minutes, but please reserve 1 hour per poster in case there are problems with your document.
  
  
• Only Science Library staff and student consultants may change the rolls of paper for the plotter. If you would like a different type of paper or ink needs to be replaced, please notify the Science Library Circulation desk.
