Our Vision

We are proud of our tradition of outstanding service and are committed to an exciting future marked by open access to ideas and information. The Library is a place for active engagement with the resources we provide, a place for learning, research, collaboration, quiet study and reflection.

It is our goal:

Our services are guided by the curriculum of the College, the research needs of the College community and the strengths of our rich intellectual heritage. We also assume a responsibility to the local, national and international community of scholars and recognize the value our unique collections hold for them and others.

As we share in the education of Wellesley students, so we educate ourselves. We are dedicated and knowledgeable professionals with a passion for learning. We welcome the opportunities presented by technology but know that technology is not a substitute for personal service. Cognizant of limitations, we approach problems as challenges and look for ways to say "yes."

As we work together:

The vision we share, the way we work, the place we provide and the relationships we build are fundamental to the mission of the College: to provide an excellent liberal arts education for women who will make a difference in the world.
