The Steering Committee has begun to analyze the work analysis questionnaires and maps. At this time we would like to give staff the opportunity to give us any suggestions for improvements/different ways of working, either in your Library department or the Library in general, that occurred to you as you were thinking about the way you do your work. Please keep in mind we are approaching our redesign focussing on service to our users. The following questions may suggest ways of thinking about this.
- Is there work that your department does that doesn't seem relevant any more?
- Is there work in your department that seems to fit more logically in another department?
- Is there overlap between work done in your department and another that doesn't seem to make sense to you?
- Is there work which is done in another department that you would like to see your department take on?
- How would you like to improve the work you do?
- Do you have constructive ideas for improving the work done in your department?
- Do you have constructive ideas for improving the work done in another department?
- Do you have suggestions for improvements in the general flow of work across the Library?
This information should be completed and submitted individually and will be used ONLY by the Steering Committee. Please be as specific and candid as possible. It is not necessary to sign your name, but please do so if you'd be willing to discuss your ideas further.
Thanks for your ideas! Please send them to Betty Febo, or leave them in my in box in the Documents Office, by Dec. 18th.
