his book, The Landscape and Architecture of Wellesley College,
one of the authors, John Rhodes, describes the Science Center as a “late
Corbusian, simple, straight-forward, direct, blunt, and honest”
architectural feat. The design followed on the tail of 1960’s
architecture, which emphasized people seeing the world as the way it
