Description
The Fifth East Coast Operator Algebras Symposium (ECOAS 07) will take
place at Wellesley College, in Wellesley, Massachusetts, on Saturday
September 29 and Sunday September 30, 2007. (Wellesley is a suburb of
Boston.) The conference will start on Saturday morning and conclude
early on Sunday afternoon.
The conference series has been designed to promote the growth of operator algebras on the East Coast and to provide a forum for graduate students, postdoctoral scholars and faculty to interact within the region. We strongly encourage graduate students and postdocs to attend, and some support for travel expenses is available. Please read the section regarding financial support for information on how to apply. This is the fifth meeting of a conference series on Operator Algebras and Noncommutative Geometry, with applications to a wide range of areas in Mathematics and Quantum Physics. The first ECOAS conference was held at Vanderbilt, Nashville, on September 20-21, 2003, the second at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, on October 2-3, 2004, the third at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, on October 1-2, 2005, and the fourth at the Georgia Institute of Technology on September 30-October 1, 2006. |
