Navigating your way on campus

The conference will be held in the Wellesley College Science Center. All talks will be in room 277. The only entrance that will be open to conference participants is the one facing the Whitin Observatory; this part of the Science Center is also called Sage Hall. Those taking the morning shuttle will be dropped precisely at this entrance. Those driving into Wellesley should park in the parking lot next to the Science Center (east of Gray House). Please refer to the campus maps (links above). Do not park in the Davis Parking facility; it is too far away.

From the Hampton Inn to the Wellesley campus

By taxi: A cab ride from the Hampton Inn to campus will cost about $16, not including tip. Ask the cab driver to drop you off behind the Science Center on the side facing the observatory. For a list of local taxi companies, see this site. For transportation between Framingham/Natick and Wellesley, consider Tommy's Taxi (508-872-3500) or Veteran's Taxi (781-235-1601).

By shuttle: A bus with capacity 20 will be available both Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8:15 from the Hampton Inn to the Science Center entrance.

By car: From the hotel, go south on Speen Street and get on 9 East. After four miles, take the exit marked Weston Road/Needham (immediately after the Mobil station). Turn right at the end of the offramp and stay on Weston Road for 1.6 miles until it ends (you will go through one stop light). Turn right onto Washington Street (also Route 16). After a half mile you will reach a set of lights; turn right onto the Wellesley campus. Refer to the campus maps (links above) to make your way to the Science Center parking lot.

Getting to the Wellesley campus via the Mass Pike (I-90)

From Logan Airport:
Take the Ted Williams Tunnel from the airport to the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90); follow directions from the east (below).

From the East:
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) West to Exit 15 (Weston/I-95/Route 128). Travel south 2 miles on I-95/ Route 128 for 2 miles to Exit 20B (Framingham/Worcester/ Route 9 West). Drive west on Route 9 for 3.9 miles. Watch for the green Weston Road/Weston sign. Immediately after that sign, take the exit marked Wellesley/Needham.

From the West:
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to Exit 13 (Natick/Framingham/Route 30). Take Route 30 East 0.2 miles to the first set of lights. Turn right on Speen Street and drive 1.8 miles to the intersection with Route 135. Take a left onto Route 135 East and drive 3.6 miles to a traffic light; turn right into the main entrance of the Wellesley campus. Refer to the campus maps (links above) to make your way to the Science Center parking lot.

Getting from the airport to the Hampton Inn

Logan Express:
There is an hourly express bus from Logan airport to Framingham/Natick, stopping at each terminal. These buses are red and will be marked "Framingham". Simply climb aboard (you will pay upon arrival). The fare is $12 one-way or $22 round trip. Travel time is usually 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. More information is available at this site. The Hampton Inn, which is located about one mile from the drop-off point, will provide free shuttle service from the Framingham Logan Express terminal to the hotel for those staying there (call the hotel at 508-653-5000 upon arriving in Framingham). You can also ask the bus driver to arrange for a taxi to take you to the Hampton Inn.

Taxi:
From Logan Airport, taxi fares to the western suburbs (Natick or Wellesley) are about $50-$60 plus tip.
