Mathematics
Curriculum
Wellesley’s mathematics curriculum offers something for everyone. Many
students take calculus, to master the mathematical tools needed for many science
and social science courses. Other students take statistics, to better understand---and
analyze---the arguments about data that we see in the real world. Some students
continue on, exploring mathematics not only as a set of tools but as an intellectual
pursuit; every statement demands a proof, and the need for creativity is in evidence.
The mathematics major is structured around a few required core courses, to which
students add a number of electives. Students can work with their advisors to
select courses that best fit their interests. |
