Collegium concerts at Wellesley is free.
The
first performance of the 2006-2007 season will take place December 8th at 7pm in the Houghton Memorial Chapel. The program entitled “A Shared World, Music from the Islamic Presence in Europe” will feature music from the Arab-Andalusian culture of North Africa and music from the Ottoman Empire of the 17th and 18th centuries as well as music from the Sephardic traditions of those areas. Guest artists include Mehmet Ali Sanlikol, Turkish multi-instrumentalist, and Lisle Kulbach and Judith Wachs from the Sephardic ensemble Voice of the Turtle.
