Welcome to the Music Department at Wellesley College! The Music Department fosters an environment in which students can combine serious musical study with the depth and richness of a traditional liberal arts curriculum. Women may choose to focus their major or minor on performance, music history, theory, ethnomusicology, or composition. All studies are directed by a dedicated and diverse faculty of widely recognized scholars and performers. The performance program at Wellesley College is an important component of the music department, giving students the opportunity to take instrumental/vocal private instruction as well as participate in one or more of the seven department ensembles. The Concert Series at Wellesley College presents world class artists to the Wellesley community and beyond. All concerts on the Concert Series are free and open to the public.
