Biographical
Information: Paula
Zeitlin is a clinician for several schools, music camps, string teachers, the MMENC, and the national IAJE and ASTA conferences on jazz string history, jazz string reperoire, and improvisation. She is also an active member of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) "Alternative Styles" division, a contributor to the 2009 ASTA String Syllabus, and a copresenter at the Alternative Styles New Music Reading Sessions at the 2006-2010 national conferences. She is a member of the Jazz Educators Network (JEN) and the IAJE Jazz String Caucus. With over three decades of experience in folk, bluegrass, Western Swing, and jazz swing quartet, Zeitlin now performs with the Paula Zeitlin Quintet (PZQ).
Recordings:
Her debut CD as a leader, “Walk A Little Slower” (SAZL Music), was
released in 2002. Her latest CD is PZQ (2008).
