Flush the HPLC system with water or other solvent appropriate for storage of HPLC column.

Remove the HPLC column, replace it with a through-connector, and cap the ends for storage.

Remove the methanol reservoir, the acetic acid reservoir, and any other reservoirs incompatible with the ion chromatography columns which will be installed.

Purge the reservoir lines for the above reservoirs so that they contain only air.

Change the needle wash reservoir to 10% acetonitrile/ 90% water

Install the pulse dampener (IG p. 3-22). CAUTION: Do not use Autoprime with pulse dampener installed.

Install the new eluent reservoirs, sparge, and purge the reservoir lines to remove air.

Flush the system with 10% acetonitrile/ 90% water.

Flush the system with water or other eluent appropriate for ion chromatography column (i.e. borate/gluconate buffer).

Install new column, flush with appropriate eluent.

Turn on conductivity detector.
